Foodborne illness, food loss, and food are all caused by contaminated food, and low- and middle-income countries are most burdened by this.

The following illustrates the relationship between food safety and and touches upon the situation in East countries by briefly presenting a qualitative study done by Andrada Mierlut for her MSc thesis project.
